Beyond our Dreams Project
In 2023, the New Orchestra of Washington (NOW) proudly launched its Beyond Our Dreams project, a transformative partnership with the Montgomery County Public School (MCPS)’s Community Schools system. This initiative seeks to inspire and uplift students in underserved communities by bringing high-quality music education directly into their schools. The program currently serves Harmony Hills Elementary in Aspen Hills and Twinbrook Elementary in Rockville, two of 34 schools designated as Community Schools—Title I institutions where nearly all students identify as Hispanic/Latino and/or Black/African American.
Through Beyond Our Dreams, NOW provides three distinct, music-related components, each carefully designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and cultural expression. These programs—fully supported and subsidized by NOW—aim to break down barriers to access, allowing students from underserved communities to engage with the enriching world of classical music and beyond. By introducing these young learners to the transformative power of music, NOW hopes to inspire new dreams, nurture talents, and create opportunities for personal and academic growth, one note at a time.

Violin Club
The Beyond Our Dreams initiative is transforming lives by bringing the power of music into underserved schools. Through after-school violin lessons, interactive school visits, and special concert opportunities, we’re helping children build confidence, express creativity, and explore new possibilities.

Inspirational school assembly visits, where professional musicians engage students and spark a love for music.
Free transportation and concert tickets for families to attend live performances at The Kennedy Center, making classical music accessible to all.
