This year, under the spell of Cinco de Mayo, we are celebrating the launch of NOW’s 2023-24 season in colorful and meaningful fashion.
Join us at this festive gala for an exclusive sneak-peek performance by Artistic Director Alejandro Hernandez-Valdez, and guest violinist Kevin Zhu, who will be playing the c1722 “Lord Wandsworth” Antonio Stradivari violin on loan from the Ryuji Ueno Foundation. We'll greet and recognize this year's ArtsMatter Award recipients, Ann and Knight Kiplinger, whose service and support to the performing arts community will be saluted. Plus, we invite you to binge-bid with abandon at the silent auction!
NOW is dedicated to our diverse and ever-expanding communities. Our artistic programs and youth-focused projects are reaching new avenues. We appreciate your support and look forward to sharing a wonderful evening with you at the gala!
Thank you to our community for the support.
Tickets to NOWfest 2023 have been sold out.
Ann and Knight Kiplinger are passionate about great choral music, especially of the Baroque and Classical periods. They met singing in the Washington Chorus (then called the Oratorio Society of Washington) in the late 1970s, and they sang together there for more than 40 years. They have equally long relationships with the Levine School of Music, Children's Chorus of Washington, and Washington Revels, where their three children, now grown, studied and performed.
In recent years Ann and Knight have found special joy in the small-ensemble virtuosity of the New Orchestra of Washington, a stellar addition to the vibrant Washington music scene.
