The Opportunity & Reserves Fund is a board-restricted fund designed to provide financial stability to the New Orchestra of Washington (NOW), and to allow it to take advantage of unusual opportunities of strategic importance. The NOW Board may either by approval of an annual budget or by special resolution, authorize the use of the fund assets to:
provide funds for promising projects that further the mission of NOW but fall outside the normal budget, and are time-sensitive, and/or
offset unavoidable and significant variances in revenue or cash flow
The Why: Coming out of the pandemic years, it is an opportune time to initiate the campaign. The Fund will help build a stronger financial foundation for the organization.
