Music for Winds and Piano: Requiem for a People

Join us for the first in a new intimate chamber music series hosted by our friends at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in Bethesda, MD. Led by NOW Principal Oboist, Stephen Key, this concert features members of the Van Buren Winds with pianist Ryo Yanigitani. These Shenandoah Conservatory faculty members, and frequent performers with NOW, invite the audience to sit with large questions that balance humanity, grief, hope, and longing. They will be presenting music by gone-too-soon British composer William Hurlstone and acclaimed American composer Florence Price. The performance concludes with the DC area premiere of Stephen Key's Requiem for a People.
